Industrial mixers are machines that mix or combine components or ingredients that form an even product. These machines have different kinds of functions that suit the needs of those involved in the chemical, plastic, pharmaceutical, mineral, and food industries worldwide. These machines have common parts and processes that are vital in the mixing process. Blades & containers, and processes like mixer speeds & configurations, and the shape of containers are the factors that determine the function of each.

Paddle Mixers

These machines are for mixing dry and easy-to-crumble ingredients or components. This machine uses a variety of blades or paddles to produce a high-quality, consistent blend.

Agitators

This machine is for mixing liquids. It works through shaking. It has a central blade that shakes the ingredients or components as its blades turn around.

Ribbon Blenders

This machine is for mixing dry solid ingredients or components that flow freely. It has long ribbon-like blades that go around a middle alignment. It also has an exterior casing. Ribbon blenders are great for mixing or separating grains & pellets, flour, pharmacological powders.

Emulsifiers

This machine is for blending unmixable liquids such as water and oil products and by-products from different industries. It works by speeding up the shearing process, increasing the centrifugal force, or adding an emulsifying agent to the mixture.

Inline Mixers

Also called static mixers, this machine is for mixing liquids and mix gas flows. It also blends the gas flows into liquids. It also blends unmixable liquids. These machines have no movable parts. They have well-designed ribbon barriers placed within a cylinder. How does it work? As the liquid or gaseous ingredient goes inside, the ribbon barriers cut the stream of liquid, thus compelling it to blend.

Homogenizing Equipment

Also called homogenizers, this machine functions as a high-speed mixer and emulsifier. These machines usually have a container with upright paddle blades inside.

Drum Mixers

These machines are generally for mixing low to medium gooey mixtures such as cement and other sticky mixtures. It also mixes ingredients of varying particle sizes. There are many kinds of drums mixers used for the different industries.

There may be other machines that can do more even specific tasks, but these are the common types.
